Supermoto A Go Go '05
Reno, Nevada; October 1, 2005

God bless the city that will allow crazy-loud race bikes to burn up its streets for the entertainment of 45,000 people.

Reno's second year as a Supermoto venue proved even more popular than the first as a longer track and even bigger turnout turned downtown into a cauldron of race action for a full weekend. The racing was high on drama as well, as Brandon Currie came back from an early crash to take the Supermoto Lites win, Micky Dymond slammed Darryl Atkins in the last turn to take the Unlimited race win and national title, and Jeff Ward came up a mere two points shy of retaining his points lead for the Supermoto national title when he went down early in the second race and was only able to work up to 15th (Jurgen Kunzel took the title via a second-place finish.) About the only undramatic part was Mark Burkhart's textbook victories in the Supermoto races.
